چکیده

Porphyry-type deposits are the major sources of copper and molybdenum, flotation has been adopted to recover them separately. The conventional reagents used for depressing minerals, such as NaHS, Na2S, Nokes reagent, have potential emit toxic H2S gas when pulp pH was not properly controlled. Thus, in this study applicability microencapsulation (ME) using ferrous phosphate ions an alternative process depress floatability chalcopyrite investigated. During ME treatment, use high concentrations together with air introduction increased amount FePO4 coating formed on surface, which proportional degree depression its floatability. Although treatment also reduced molybdenite, ~92% Mo could be recovered by utilizing emulsified kerosene. Flotation chalcopyrite/molybdenite mixture confirmed that separation efficiency greatly improved from 10.9% 66.8% employing a conditioning Cu-Mo separation.

Effect of Ultrasonic Pre-Treatment and Aeration on Flotation Separation of Chalcopyrite from Pyrite

In this paper, the effect of ultrasonic pre-treatment and aeration on the flotation separation of chalcopyrite from pyrite was investigated at different amounts of potassium ethyl xanthate (KEX), as a collector, and pH values. Artificially-mixed samples of chalcopyrite and pyrite were subjected to flotation studies to understand the effect of aeration with or without ultrasonic tre...

Enhancement of Phosphate Flotation by Ultrasonic Pretreatment

Removal of carbonate impurities in sedimentary phosphate is one of the most important issues in the industry. Poor selective flotation of those ores is due to the similarity of Physico-chemical surface properties, solubility and electrokinetic characteristics of sparingly soluble phosphate and carbonate minerals. In this study, the effect of ultrasonic irradiation as a pretreatment method o...

Removal of Lead Ions from Aqueous Solution by Sorptive-Flotation Using Limestone and Oleic Acid

A simple, rapid and economic procedure was presented to remove lead(II) from aqueous solution under the optimized conditions. It is based on the sorption of Pb2+ ions from aqueous solutions onto limestone fines (LS), which is an inexpensive and widespread over the globe, followed by flotation with oleic acid (HOL) surfactant. The different parameters (namely: solution pH, sorbent...

Froth flotation of phosphate rock

The development of froth flotation is traced from its earliest-known use through the discoveries leading to the present knowledge of the science. The factors influencing the flotation of non-sulfide and non-metallic minerals are discussed, and the machines used in commercial flotation operations are described. Experimental work on the flotation beneficiation of phosphate rock is presented as an...
